Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at lower levels. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a measure of the damage and its quality. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a vendor.

On PC, you can see the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory states that the item level is calculated by formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and that sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual item level.

It's not the only factor that influences the level of an item upgrader. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may alter its stats. Item Stats

Stats on an Best item upgrade are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is more useful for early game runs, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item can affect the effectiveness of an upgrade item. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
