The Best Robot Hoover
The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you are at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad for a dry one in seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of flooring and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competitors. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).
It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's loud that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to sleep.
It's also a bit costly, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. This is a two-in-one auto vacuum and mop that is very efficient however it will cost you more and make more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its top rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the home based on how dirty these areas are.
If you have a bigger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. For families that are busy, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning robot mop and vacuum schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we have examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
